Three years ago, the pain was so bad that I couldn’t lift the blankets off of myself; I could barely function or take care of myself. I asked God to either ease the pain or let me die. He said “no” to both. I had too much to learn from this pain and too many blessings to receive first!
After three muddled diagnoses, I was finally firmly diagnosed with R.A. (Rheumatoid Arthritis paired with Fibromyalgia); I began taking two medications and was able to work on restoring function and strength.
In only a few months time of gym work plus a few lifestyle changes, I’ve been able to completely omit one medication and am poised to reduce the dosage of the second by 25%.
When asked if my gym work is making a difference, my rheumatologist says: “It makes ALL the difference!”
We don’t have to accept a diagnosis. We don’t have to give up. We don’t have to resign to pharmaceuticals forever.
I turned 59 years old yesterday. And with Stefeni’s help and a lot of hard work, I feel better than I have in a really long time. It’s my hope that everyone with R.A. can feel this good!
